Wonderful to see the sun shine this week and explore another hands on project.
NWB was in awe and joy this week as our incubated eggs hatched and we all watched as the eggs wobbled and cracked. Awe inspiring to watch the chicks being born and watch their feathers dry to become fluffy balls of cuteness. Even the most serious of our cohort can’t help but smile!
Egg-citing, egg- stordinary and egg-tastic! Sorry!
It is another example of Newton Wood Barn’s curriculum where we capture complete engagement- explore, understand and learn.
Extend- We have built the coup and designed the run – we have made all kind of chicken stands and perches in woodwork and looked into how we use the eggs once the chickens get older ( HSA etc) We are looking into breeds and hatching.
There will be more – but for now let’s enjoy the wonderful feeling of new life, change of season and awe!
# pet rats eat egg shells!
